The rows marked “while the account is active” enter the process below once the account is deleted.

Deleting your account

Settings → My privacy → Delete my account. No phone call, no explanation, and behind exactly one confirmation.

**Immediately:** your profile leaves everyone’s view and nobody can find you.

**7 days:** a change-of-mind window. Signing in during it restores the account. After that it does not come back.

**After 7 days:** profile, photos, interests, location, messages and verification data are deleted.

**Within 30 days:** deletion completes in backups as well.

What remains, and why

After deletion only what the law or other people’s safety requires remains. None of it is attached to your profile or usable to rebuild the account:

Financial records — a tax obligation.

Records of serious violations — so that someone closed for harassment or fraud cannot simply return tomorrow.

Consent records — evidence of which version was accepted and when.

Messages you sent to another user stay in their inbox. They are that person’s data too.

Content connected to an open safety report is retained until that report is resolved — even if the account was deleted. Deleting an account is not a way to destroy evidence.

Getting a copy of your data

Write to privacy@youplanet.world from the number you sign in with. The file is ready within 30 days and the download link is valid for 7 days.

There is deliberately no button for this in the app yet: a complete copy includes messages and history held on the server, and a button that handed back only what is on the phone would be lying about being complete.

Correcting your data

Name, bio, interests, photo and location you change yourself at any time. Date of birth is corrected through support with a review — because if it were freely editable, age gating would mean nothing.
