YouPlanetThe short version: your exact location is never shown to anyone, your date of birth is private and only your age is visible, a verification selfie is stored apart from your profile photo and deleted after review, and you can erase everything whenever you want. Location
YouPlanet does not give your exact coordinates to any user — not in text, not on the map, not in any response. Before a position is stored or sent anywhere it is rounded onto a fixed grid of roughly 700 metres.
Distance is always a band, never a figure: “under 1 km”, “1–3 km”. A precise distance taken from three points gives away an address. We never produce that figure.
The permission we request is coarse only. We do not ask for precise location, because we have no use for it.
We never read location in the background. When the app is closed, YouPlanet does not know where you are.
Instead of your device’s position you can pick a city yourself — including one you are not in. It is then labelled as a chosen location.

Verification selfie
If you choose photo verification, a few frames of your face are captured and sent for review. They are stored separately from your profile photo in private storage, are never visible to any user, and are deleted within 30 days of the decision.
YouPlanet does not currently use face recognition, biometric templates or face geometry. A human reviewer performs the match. If that ever changes, this document is updated before it ships and your consent is asked again.
These images are never used for advertising, for training a model, or for any other purpose.
Why we are allowed to process this
To perform the agreement you entered into — account, profile, messages, purchases.
With your consent — location, verification selfie, notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time without losing your account.
For our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe — fraud detection, duplicate-account prevention, security logs.
For legal obligations — keeping financial records.
Who sees it
Other users: only what is marked public in the table above.
The YouPlanet team: only where necessary — handling a report, reviewing a verification, resolving a billing issue. Access to sensitive data is limited and logged.
Processors: hosting and storage, push delivery, crash reporting, payment gateway. Each gets only the data its job needs.
We do not sell personal data. We do not sell location, precise or approximate, to advertisers.
Advertising
Advertising on YouPlanet is chosen by placement, not by your personal profile. Advertisers have no access to your photos, messages, exact age or location. Every ad is labelled.
Your rights
See what data we hold about you.
Correct it.
Delete it — the account and everything in it.
Get a copy of it.
Withdraw a consent you gave.
Object to processing, where the law where you live gives you that right.

How long we keep it
Every category has a defined lifetime, and no sensitive category is kept indefinitely. The full table is in Data Retention & Deletion.
Children
YouPlanet is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn an account belongs to a minor we close it and delete the data. See Child Safety.
Data outside your country
YouPlanet’s core infrastructure is in Iran. Some ancillary services — crash reporting, push delivery — may process data in another country. An up-to-date list of processors is always reachable from this page.
Security
All traffic over HTTPS.
Verification data in private storage, with restricted and logged access.
Photo metadata, including camera coordinates, is stripped before publication.
No system is perfectly secure. If an incident happens that puts you at risk, we follow a defined process to investigate, contain, and — where the law requires it — notify.
Changes
When this document changes in a way that matters, we tell you in the app and, where needed, ask you again.
