Where to report

From the ⋯ on any profile, message or post. For anything not tied to a specific account: Settings → Support.

Categories

Harassment

Impersonation

Scam or request for money

Threats or violence

Pick the right category. Priority and internal routing differ per category, and a threat filed under “spam” lands in the wrong queue.

What happens next

Your report is confidential. The person reported is never told who reported them.

The content is reviewed; in serious cases the account is limited while the review runs.

A decision is made: no action, content removal, a restriction, suspension, or permanent closure.

You are told the outcome. The detail of a decision about someone else’s account is not shared — that is their privacy.

How long it takes

**Child safety, credible threats, danger to life:** immediately, out of turn.

**Harassment, sexual content, scams:** usually under 24 hours.

**Everything else:** up to 72 hours.

Blocking

Blocking does not require a report, and reporting does not require a block. Blocking is instant: they can no longer find you, message you, or see your profile. They are not notified.

If a decision was made about your account

You are told the reason, unless saying it would put someone at risk or the law prevents it.

To appeal: Settings → Support → Appeal a decision. An appeal is reviewed by someone who did not make the original decision. You get an answer within 7 days.

If the appeal succeeds, the account and everything in it is restored.

One exception: there is no appeal for child sexual abuse or exploitation. That decision is permanent.

False reports

Getting a report wrong costs you nothing — we would rather have too many than too few. But repeatedly reporting someone in order to harass them is itself a violation.
