Before you meet

Talk on YouPlanet first. A rush to move the conversation to another app is one of the signs.

A short video call before meeting tells you more than any badge.

Tell someone you trust where you are going, who with, and when you will be back.

Make the first meeting somewhere public and busy. Not a home, not a car, not somewhere quiet.

Get there and back under your own arrangements. Do not get into a stranger’s car.

Keep your phone charged.

While you are there

Do not leave your drink or your belongings unattended.

If it feels wrong, end it there. You do not have to explain yourself.

If they are not who the profile said, that alone is reason enough to leave.

What a scam looks like

If someone asks you for money — for any reason, with any story — it is a scam. A sudden illness, being stranded abroad, an investment opportunity, a ticket to come and see you: it is all one pattern.

Very intense, very fast. Big declarations in the first few days.

A run of excuses for never doing a video call.

Pushing to move to Telegram or WhatsApp by the second message.

Asking for a verification code, a password, or a photo of your bank card.

A link that wants you to log in or pay somewhere.

Photos that look professional and turn up elsewhere in an image search.

Never share your YouPlanet sign-in code. We will never ask for it.

What you always have

**Block** — they can no longer find you, message you, or see your profile. They are not told.

**Report** — from any profile, message or post. Your report is confidential.

**Turning location off** — at any moment, without losing your account.

**Deleting your account** — from settings, no questions, no phone call.

If something goes wrong

Report it in the app, and block the other person if you want to. An in-app report brings the conversation with it, which is what makes the review fast.

Reports involving physical harm, threats, or child safety are handled out of turn.

If a message is evidence, do not delete it. Blocking someone does not take the conversation away from us.

If you have already sent money, tell your bank as well as reporting it here.
