Why e-mail and not a phone number

A number you never collect is a number that cannot leak. A mobile number in Iran is tied to a legal identity, and a database holding them leaks something else entirely on the day it leaks. An e-mail address does the same job — proving you are the person who was here last time — without that.

The code did not arrive

Wait a minute and press “send again”. Check your spam or junk folder — the code comes from YouPlanet. Make sure the address is spelled right. If it still does not arrive, write to us from the support page.

On more than one device

You can be signed in on several devices at once. Each session is separate and listed in security settings; a session you do not recognise is closed from there, and that device is out.

Deleting the account

Settings, then “delete account”. Your profile, your posts and your conversations go. What does not go is the record of reports and security events — if somebody was reported from an account, deleting it does not delete the report, or deleting an account would be a way out of being answered for. How long that record is kept is written in the privacy document.

The minimum age

Eighteen. This is not a filter that can be lowered — it is a condition of use, and it is written into the terms.

• Do I need a phone number to sign up?+

  No. An e-mail address is enough, and signing in with Google also works.

• What happens to my YouPlanet 1 account?+

  Sign in with the address that was on the old account — everything is still there.

• I forgot my password+

  There is no password. A six-digit code goes to your e-mail each time.

• Can a deleted account be restored?+

  No. The profile, the posts and the conversations do not come back.
